Cast film is extruded as a flat sheet, resulting in much higher outputs than blown film extrusion. For this reason, cast film extrusion dominates the stretch film industry. Cast film predominates in machine applications, and generally has superior optical properties of clarity and gloss.
Cast film is produced in Standard, Power Pre and Super Power Pre, grades determined by the amount of pre stretch required for the application. As with blown film polymer resin technology has helped create the additional pre stretch qualities now demanded by users.
Quality Films sources cast film from leading European manufacturers and supplies all grades of film in 500mm wide, machine roll lengths in a range of gauges; 17, 20 and 23 microns are the most popular.
For some pallet wrapping situations, where additional load holding ability, clarity and quiet unwind is required, cast film may be the right solution.
Standard Film will stretch up to 150% and is suitable for standard wrapping machines.
Power Pre Stretch Film will stretch over 200% when used on a power pre stretch wrapping machine.
Super Power Pre Stretch Film will stretch up to 300% when used on a power pre stretch machine
